But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernardinho Branco couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernardinho Branco in the 47th minute of play forced Irakeanos's goalkeeper Ulisses Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernardinho Branco to make the kick off. After 75 minutes, Rafinha Varela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Irakeanos and the Jatobal EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Irakeanos getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Rafinha Varela hit a great ball. Bernardinho Branco had several of the Irakeanos's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 81 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-5 score and a disappointed Ulisses Amaral as he didn't even see the shot coming. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardinho Branco got free with Ulisses Amaral in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
