Serrania's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Virgílio Queiroz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Luiz Eduardo Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute, Zézinho da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sucuarana Futebol Clube's Luís Guilherme Berger got a free kick in the 29th minute. Aleandro Velasco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for André Luís Maia. Sucuarana Futebol Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luiz Eduardo Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serrania's Angelo Machado got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgílio Queiroz took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Eugen Coidum. Eugen Coidum dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Virgílio Queiroz made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Luiz Eduardo Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Luís Maia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luiz Fábio Carioca's late challenge caught a Serrania's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Eduardo Gonçalves in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Luís Maia saved Sucuarana Futebol Clube from getting behind. André Luís Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Eduardo Gonçalves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isaltino de Toledo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for André Luís Maia. After having played for 88 minutes, Lenílson Mendonça managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Serrania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenílson Mendonça was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chants of Sucuarana Futebol Clube echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Serrania had held the ball for most of the match.
