The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Maringá Futebol Clube's Mazinho Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natanael Lopes in the 3rd minute of play. In the 7th minute, Orlando Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Maringá Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Coelho came free, but Mazinho Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 10th minute, Horácio Matos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mazinho Rodrigues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Mazinho Rodrigues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zacarias Coelho's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. Alberto Arruda hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Cícero Botelho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Maringá Futebol Clube's Joaquim Soeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Maringá Futebol Clube's Joaquim Soeiro in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored Maringá Futebol Clube's protests and gave Alberto Arruda a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th minute, Alberto Arruda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maringá Futebol Clube's Mazinho Rodrigues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horácio Matos in the 33rd minute of play. Mazinho Rodrigues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarias Coelho in the 34th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Joaquim Soeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 42 minutes into the match, Maringá Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Zacarias Coelho came free, but Mazinho Rodrigues reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mazinho Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zacarias Coelho in the 43rd minute of play. In the 45th minute, Horácio Matos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Soeiro struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Sebastião Valladares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Maringá Futebol Clube. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horácio Matos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sebastião Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Soeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sebastião Valladares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Joaquim Soeiro went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Joaquim Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 60 minutes into the match, Patim Raba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio dos Santos came free, but Sebastião Valladares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patim Raba FC's Zacarias Coelho came free and shot a quick shot against goal 63 minutes in the game, fortunately Mazinho Rodrigues had problems saving as it came toward the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Horácio Matos in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mazinho Rodrigues saved Maringá Futebol Clube from getting behind. Zacarias Coelho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mazinho Rodrigues having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zacarias Coelho got free with Mazinho Rodrigues in the 73rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Patim Raba FC booed when Maringá Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zacarias Coelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Mazinho Rodrigues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Arruda kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Joaquim Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 88 minutes into the game, Tiaguinho Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maringá Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Patim Raba FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Maringá Futebol Clube's Tiaguinho Marquez got a free kick in the 88th minute. Mazinho Rodrigues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Horácio Matos in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute of the match, Zacarias Coelho got a very nice opportunity to score, but Mazinho Rodrigues was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Maringá Futebol Clube fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Patim Raba FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
