Cancela FC's Cléberson Teles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Cancela FC from getting a goal against them. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Rodrigues to make the kick off. The supporters of Cancela FC booed when Juerana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdemar Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Cancela FC's Igor Andrade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Valdemar Leme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Cléberson Teles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. In the 69th minute, Juan Sanches left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cancela FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. If Luiz Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 76th minute, Gonçalo Guerra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute of the match Valdemar Pinho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cléberson Teles showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Cancela FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Pedro Simão came free, but Cléberson Teles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iuri de Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iuri de Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Juerana getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Iuri de Queirós hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Sidnei Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cancela FC's Alberto Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If José Pedro Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 96 minutes into the match, Luiz Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cléberson Teles. Cancela FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-4. Cancela FC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
