An unexpectedly hard shot by Nico Madureira in the 15th minute of play forced Rio Claro SP's goalkeeper Dênis Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Jânio Pena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dênis Neves. Rio Claro SP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jânio Pena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Dalmo Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dênis Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubinho Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dalmo Lopez was extremely unlucky when he, in the 66th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After 66 minutes, Jânio Pena made it 0-9 with a short kick to the right side. In the 81st minute, Jânio Pena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dênis Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-10. The audience was convinced that Jânio Pena's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dênis Neves was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 87th minute, Engenharia da Aeronáutica's Rubinho Fonseca dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-11.
