Luizinho Mattos ran back to his position shaking his head. If Geovânio Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chelsea FC's Luiz Eduardo Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovânio Ramalho in the 22nd minute of play. Hortêncio Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Arlindo Cosme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luiz Eduardo Pires. Chelsea FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chelsea FC's Hortêncio Oliveira got a free kick in the 26th minute. After having played for 27 minutes, Geovânio Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jiquitaia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geovânio Ramalho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Edu Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If João Carlos Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Clemente Abreu fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jiquitaia FC's protests and gave Clemente Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. João Carlos Torres struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Edu Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsea FC. In the 40th minute, Chelsea FC's Percy Esteves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After 43 played minutes Chelsea FC got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Oliveira. Emílio Velasco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Edu Paraíba tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jiquitaia FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when João Carlos Torres scored to the left of an out of position Edu Paraíba, making the score, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Carlos Torres made a kick off. Mateus Nóbrega hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Edu Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Carlos Torres in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Velasco in the 71st minute of play forced Jiquitaia FC's goalkeeper Edu Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edu Paraíba showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Carlos Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. A collision led to Chelsea FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Hortêncio Oliveira hit a great ball. Luizinho Mattos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Luiz Eduardo Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, Chelsea FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. If Gilberto Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edu Paraíba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Percy Esteves went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Emílio Velasco might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edu Paraíba. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Emílio Velasco ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute Gilberto Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Chelsea FC booed when Jiquitaia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateus Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute, João Carlos Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Emílio Velasco came up free with the goalie in the 98th minute, the Chelsea FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Velasco couldn't finish the play.
