Spectators: 7187 (Terracing: 5392, Seating: 1653, VIP seats: 142) Nhunguacu SC's Luís Toscano started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Nhunguacu SC booed when Varginha Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elói Magalhães didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Luís Toscano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cristo Fero was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. Hélio Mumbach could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Duarte Eger made a huge save. Nhunguacu SC's Duarte Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Paraense in the 17th minute of play. Cristo Fero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Toscano, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. 21 minutes into the game, Haroldo Paraense recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Duarte Eger. Haroldo Paraense showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. 2-0 became the score in the 26th minute when Haroldo Paraense elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Hélio Mumbach received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Duarte Eger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oscar Linhares was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 33 minutes into the match. 33 minutes into the game, one of Nhunguacu SC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Varginha Esporte Clube. Elói Magalhães stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Duarte Eger. 3-0. After having played for 41 minutes, Hélio Mumbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varginha Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hélio Mumbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Thiago Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 48 minutes into the match, Nhunguacu SC's goal looked a bit too open when Haroldo Paraense came free, but Duarte Eger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hélio Mumbach to make the kick off. Rafa Leão made in the 53rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Sérgio Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. Thiago Gonçalves took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristo Fero. Cristo Fero dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 58 minutes into the match, Haroldo Paraense notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Nhunguacu SC's Duarte Eger. Duarte Eger was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 63 minutes into the match, Varginha Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Cristo Fero had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Thiago Gonçalves. 67 minutes into the game, Varginha Esporte Clube's Hélio Mumbach nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Duarte Eger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 75th match minute, Varginha Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benedito Mota to maneuver through the defense. In the 77th minute, Hélio Mumbach made a precise shot to the right of Duarte Eger. Nhunguacu SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. After 85 minutes, Juninho Zonta mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nhunguacu SC and the Varginha Esporte Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Nhunguacu SC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Juninho Zonta hit a great ball. Cristo Fero made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Thiago Gonçalves sent off a good shot on target. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Varginha Esporte Clube had played much better football throughout.
