Imbituva SS were furious when Tales Hermes was red carded, 19 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Eugênio Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabino Veloso having to interfere. After having played for 38 minutes, Tomé Vergílio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Imbituva SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomé Vergílio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cipriano Simões kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Imbituva SS got a freekick which was hit by Felippe Coelho. Imbituva SS's Adilson Pitta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Imbituva SS from getting a goal against them. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Gonçalves to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Quixelo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romário Souto to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luciano Pinho during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience held their breath when Felippe Coelho in the 81st minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Sabino Veloso's left hand side. Adilson Pitta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Souto in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Nuno Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adilson Pitta. Imbituva SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nuno Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Dadá Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabino Veloso having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Imbituva SS left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Quixelo SC.
