Felipe Bueno hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Alfredo Moreira took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Romeu Peixoto to make any attempt to save it. An unexpected shot in the 25th minute by Fabiano do Nascimento got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jorge Couto kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. If Rômulo Siqueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st match minute, Curriola was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wilton Dantas to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 42 minutes, Alfredo Moreira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Curriola's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfredo Moreira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, United FC's goalkeeper Romeu Peixoto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fabiano do Nascimento. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, United FC's Lino Diniz got a free kick in the 55th minute. United FC's Romeu Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Cruz in the 56th minute of play. The supporters of Curriola booed when United FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Damião didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jacinto Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the match, United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Fabiano do Nascimento came free, but Romeu Peixoto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romeu Peixoto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Moreira in the 85th minute of the match. After taking down the ball on Curriola's corner Samuel Cruz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Romeu Peixoto quite easily take care of the ball. With an all-out effort, United FC's Róbson Barros threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jacinto Damião, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Curriola had won after a very even match.
