Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Humberto Jacinto kicked off to start the match. Mares's Humberto Jacinto got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 8 minutes into the match, Mares's goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luiz Moreira came free, but Vivaldo do Vale reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Luiz Moreira scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vivaldo do Vale, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mares's Vivaldo do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Víktor Baiano in the 26th minute of play. Vivaldo do Vale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Víktor Baiano in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vivaldo do Vale prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hélder Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Adelino Bittencourt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Sílvio Luís Peixoto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Álvaro Freitas kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Cibauma SC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of Mares booed when Cibauma SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Marquez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Mané de Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Mares getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Erasmo Linares hit a great ball. Clemente Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Humberto Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sílvio Luís Peixoto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
