Nova Geração F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sílvio Luiz Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Paulo Pontin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Oliveira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Luís Bastos charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Luís Bastos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a defensive mix-up in Trovão Azul FC's zone, Delfim Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Pontin came out of the goal and Delfim Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cesinha Guerra was a little too slow when Geovânio Paraense got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-0. In the 21st minute Geovânio Paraense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cesinha Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 played minutes Trovão Azul FC got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho de Andrade. After 22 played minutes, Nova Geração F.C's Fábio Falcão shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Paulo Pontin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Nova Geração F.C reached it. Serginho Maciel charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Serginho Maciel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 25 minutes into the game, one of Trovão Azul FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Nelson Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Delfim Ortiz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Paulo Pontin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Nelson Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Pontin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Nelson Sarmento had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 42 minutes, Nelson Sarmento mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Nova Geração F.C and the Trovão Azul FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 44 minutes, Nelson Sarmento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Geração F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Sarmento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredinho Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Paulo Pontin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Delfim Ortiz to strike the kick off in the second half. Cesinha Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizão Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Delfim Ortiz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Geração F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Ortiz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Pontin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Pontin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Delfim Ortiz in the 57th minute. A collision led to Trovão Azul FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Luizão Antunes hit a great ball. Nova Geração F.C's Sílvio Luiz Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfredinho Oliveira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Paulo Pontin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sílvio Luiz Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Nova Geração F.C's Delfim Ortiz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Paulo Pontin. That made the score 1-2 after 74 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Trovão Azul FC's zone, Sílvio Luiz Pinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Paulo Pontin came out of the goal and Sílvio Luiz Pinho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sílvio Luiz Pinho struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Paulo Pontin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Nova Geração F.C. In the 83rd minute, Sílvio Luiz Pinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Delfim Ortiz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 88thth minute tested the skills of Paulo Pontin when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Trovão Azul FC's goalkeeper Paulo Pontin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sílvio Luiz Pinho in the 93rd minute of play forced Trovão Azul FC's goalkeeper Paulo Pontin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Nova Geração F.C left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Trovão Azul FC.
