After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Vitinho Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espinosense F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitinho Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cássio Brito breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 7 minutes into the match, Ouricana's goal looked a bit too open when Valdo Guedes came free, but Cássio Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Walmyr Dantas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espinosense F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ouricana the free kick. Alfredinho Abreu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 12th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Noel Quadros. Espinosense F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ricardinho Rossi struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Noel Quadros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ouricana. Valdo Guedes hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute, Espinosense F.C's Valdo Guedes fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Cássio Brito was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Ricardinho Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Noel Quadros having to interfere. Zé Pedro Simão hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Espinosense F.C's zone, Yuri Fonseca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Noel Quadros came out of the goal and Yuri Fonseca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Valdo Guedes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Cássio Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Noel Quadros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yuri Fonseca in the 40th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vitinho Toscano got free with Cássio Brito in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 47 minutes into the game, one of Espinosense F.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Espinosense F.C:s Noel Quadros showed great skill when he stopped Alfredinho Abreu:s penalty. After the first half Ouricana were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valdo Guedes made a kick off. After 57 played minutes Espinosense F.C got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Barros. Ricardinho Rossi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ricardinho Rossi in the 61st minute of play forced Espinosense F.C's goalkeeper Noel Quadros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Espinosense F.C's Erasmo Barros got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Ricardinho Rossi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Noel Quadros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Geovânio Santos fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Espinosense F.C's protests and gave Geovânio Santos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 65th match minute, Espinosense F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovânio Santos to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Ouricana's Ricardinho Rossi ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Noel Quadros. Noel Quadros yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Ouricana's Cássio Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Guedes in the 75th minute of play. If Valdo Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valdo Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cássio Brito having to interfere. Ricardinho Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Noel Quadros made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Yuri Fonseca sent off a good shot on target. Yuri Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95thth minute of the game Ricardinho Rossi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Espinosense F.C's Noel Quadros was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 97th minute Ricardinho Rossi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Noel Quadros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 98 played minutes Ouricana got a freekick which was hit by Josué de Queiroz. The Espinosense F.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Ouricana's performance. The match ended with a win for Ouricana.
