Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Vitinho Vianna got the match started through his kick off. In the 5th minute Geovânio de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 7th minute, Henrique Severo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hugo Damião didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Baltazar Gonçalves went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Arlindo Urbano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Vianna in the 27th minute of the match. When Alessandro Trigo fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caarapo SS's protests and gave Alessandro Trigo a yellow card for diving instead. 30 minutes into the match, Henrique Severo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Caarapo SS's Arlindo Urbano. Arlindo Urbano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Baltazar Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hugo Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Bahia SS defense, Baltazar Gonçalves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hugo Damião. The Bahia SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hugo Damião should have stopped the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Bahia SS's zone, Geovânio de Barros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hugo Damião came out of the goal and Geovânio de Barros tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Vitinho Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bahia SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Vitinho Vianna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arlindo Urbano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovânio de Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugo Damião read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Baltazar Gonçalves struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Hugo Damião didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caarapo SS.

Arlindo Urbano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Vianna, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Vianna in the 55th minute of play forced Caarapo SS's goalkeeper Arlindo Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 56th minute, Vitinho Vianna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arlindo Urbano was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 60th minute Baltazar Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute of the match, Baltazar Gonçalves tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hugo Damião saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Bahia SS getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Enéas Viana hit a great ball. Vitinho Vianna struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Arlindo Urbano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bahia SS. Hugo Damião was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Caarapo SS supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Caarapo SS would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
