In the 23rd minute of the game Aníbal Gaúcho made a throw-in which Fabiano Pitta played forward. Wilson Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldão Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiori Félix in the 25th minute of play forced Engano SC's goalkeeper Wilson Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Fiori Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guadalajara Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fiori Félix was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jorge Esteves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã Nascimento, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Fiori Félix managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guadalajara Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Fiori Félix was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Teodoro de Barros took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jorge Esteves. Guadalajara Esporte Clube's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ramón Melo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fabiano Pitta charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fabiano Pitta the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Engano SC booed when Guadalajara Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute Ramón Melo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Esteves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Guadalajara Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Ramón Melo came free, but Jorge Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorge Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramón Melo in the 65th minute of the match. Fiori Félix fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Baiano having to interfere. If Ramón Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wilson Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fiori Félix in the 83rd minute of play. Ronaldão Lago was extremely unlucky when he, in the 85th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. When Guadalajara Esporte Clube's Fiori Félix in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Engano SC's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Engano SC's zone, Fiori Félix stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Baiano came out of the goal and Fiori Félix tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
