Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gino Costa kicked off to start the match. After a defensive mix-up in Cabedelo's zone, Duda Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walmir Pitta came out of the goal and Duda Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Duda Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gino Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tomé Baptista hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Walmir Pitta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duda Pires's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. Duda Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duda Pires struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Walmir Pitta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itaquarai. Gino Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tomé Baptista during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomé Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. In the 28th match minute, Cabedelo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute Gonçalo Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walmir Pitta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 36 minutes, Davi de Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Itaquarai and the Cabedelo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th minute, Elano Zanette sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Itaquarai's Jorginho Neiva didn't even have to move. When Kléber Vinhas fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cabedelo's protests and gave Kléber Vinhas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Itaquarai booed when Cabedelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Vinhas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walmir Pitta came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Itaquarai's Duda Pires. But to his dismay, Duda Pires quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After the first half Itaquarai were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Duda Pires came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Itaquarai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duda Pires couldn't finish the play. If Márcio Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 65 played minutes, Cabedelo's Perivaldo Sá shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorginho Neiva came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cabedelo reached it. Gino Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jorginho Neiva having to make a save. The audience was convinced that Gino Costa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorginho Neiva was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Eliseu Trevisan hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Evaristo Garcia kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Duda Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Duda Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir Pitta having to interfere. Gonçalo Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Walmir Pitta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 81 minutes of play Cabedelo's Kléber Vinhas was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 82 played minutes Cabedelo got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Vinhas. Walmir Pitta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Duda Pires in the 83rd minute of the match. If Duda Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gonçalo Proença could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Walmir Pitta made a huge save. Márcio Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorginho Neiva having to interfere. The Itaquarai supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Itaquarai would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
