The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luís Fabiano de Andrade hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Geovânio Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 9 minutes into the match, Geovânio Cavalcante dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tarcisio Cabral, 1-0. When Valdemar Negri fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pau FC's protests and gave Valdemar Negri a yellow card for diving instead. Valdemar Negri hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. In the 19th match minute, Chorona SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lino Antunes to maneuver through the defense. 20 minutes into the match, Pau FC's Fábio Hoffmann sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Han Chao Yong narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 21 played minutes Chorona SC got a freekick which was hit by Albertinho Bastos. Raimundo da Mata blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tarcisio Cabral having to make a save. In the 30th minute, Betinho Perez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tarcisio Cabral was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Geovânio Cavalcante had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Raimundo da Mata might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tarcisio Cabral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raimundo da Mata ran back to his position shaking his head. 42 minutes into the match, Geovânio Cavalcante dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tarcisio Cabral, 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raimundo da Mata stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Raimundo da Mata cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Tarcisio Cabral was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 57th match minute, Pau FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdemar Negri to maneuver through the defense. When Moisés Donato came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Chorona SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moisés Donato couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fábio Hoffmann during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 61st minute, one of Pau FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pau FC. In the 63rd minute there was a penalty for Chorona SC. Leon Balendin stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tarcisio Cabral. 5-0. Raimundo da Mata's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tarcisio Cabral read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. When Lúcio Maranhense, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 73 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Han Chao Yong was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Betinho Perez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tarcisio Cabral. Pau FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Betinho Perez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Geovânio Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chorona SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovânio Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tarcisio Cabral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Geovânio Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd minute, Edgard Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lúcio Maranhense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Han Chao Yong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Han Chao Yong made a fantastic save in the 98th minute, when Lúcio Maranhense sent off a good shot on target.
