Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cássio Pernambucano fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pentanha's protests and gave Cássio Pernambucano a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Pentanha:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Apito Final - FIM:s goal. When the match had been going on for 11 minutes, Apito Final - FIM's Rubinho Mazza got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Orlando Quaresma. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rony França in the 16th minute of play forced Apito Final - FIM's goalkeeper Raimundo de Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Laércio Santana put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Raimundo de Godoi. 23 minutes into the match, Apito Final - FIM's goal looked a bit too open when Rony França came free, but Raimundo de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tomás Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Orlando Quaresma made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Pentanha's Bernardinho Perez got a free kick in the 25th minute. If Andrézinho Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rony França struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Raimundo de Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pentanha. 40 minutes into the match, Rony França had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Raimundo de Godoi. Apito Final - FIM's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rony França was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. In the 46th minute, Ediberto das Neves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half Pentanha were leading 2-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrézinho Fontes to make the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Apito Final - FIM's Andrézinho Fontes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Orlando Quaresma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. Orlando Quaresma made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrézinho Fontes in the 61st minute of play. A hard shot 66 in the game by Laércio Santana from a close distance when the talented Raimundo de Godoi managed to make a qualified save. Apito Final - FIM's players were relieved. 69 minutes into the game, Rony França recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Raimundo de Godoi. Rony França showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho Medeiros in the 76th minute of play forced Pentanha's goalkeeper Orlando Quaresma to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Pentanha's Rony França sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Raimundo de Godoi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 80th match minute, Apito Final - FIM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabinho Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rony França in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Raimundo de Godoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Laércio Santana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pentanha's supporters rose to their feet, but Laércio Santana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Raimundo de Godoi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rony França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Raimundo de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dida Linhares was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 86 minutes into the match. In the 85th minute, one of Apito Final - FIM:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Apito Final - FIM. In the 88th minute there was a penalty for Pentanha. Roberto Quaresma stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Raimundo de Godoi. 3-6. 94 minutes into the match, Tomás Correia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Orlando Quaresma. Pentanha's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomás Correia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-6. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Pentanha had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
