Michel Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Desportivo Itália's William de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 16th minute, Hernani Marinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Desportivo Itália fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Edvaldo Paraíba kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Júlio Britto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonsinho Fernandes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Caio Santana couldn't finish the play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caio Santana was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Caio Santana in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Michel Queirós prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Christiano Sarmento scored 3-2 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Júlio Britto, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Desportivo Itália's Júlio Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Aguiar in the 64th minute of play. 66 minutes into the match, Desportivo Itália's goal looked a bit too open when Christiano Sarmento came free, but Júlio Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
