Joélson Rocha came out and tried to block the shot, but Lucas Azevedo slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 21st minute. Robinho Valladares's late challenge caught a Portuguesa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Robinho Valladares helped the player get up and apologised. Joélson Rocha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Noel Simões in the 27th minute. If Noel Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Noel Simões received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Joélson Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Breno Bastos fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Portuguesa's protests and gave Breno Bastos a yellow card for diving instead. If Noel Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. Tangente SC's Henrique de Azevedo couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 44th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Portuguesa. After 46 played minutes Lucas Azevedo rounded Portuguesa's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lucas Azevedo made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Tangente SC's Robinho Valladares got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Raimundo Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After 58 minutes, Noel Simões made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Portuguesa's Joélson Rocha tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 61st minute Lucas Azevedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joélson Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Breno Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Lucas Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 67th minute. Joélson Rocha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tangente SC. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucas Azevedo in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joélson Rocha saved Portuguesa from getting behind. The supporters of Tangente SC booed when Portuguesa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breno Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Lucas Azevedo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Joélson Rocha was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Joélson Rocha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lucas Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. Tangente SC's Denílson Vergílio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Tangente SC from getting a goal against them. Betão Quadross short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Denílson Vergílio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Lucas Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Portuguesa's Erik da Silveira got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Joélson Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lucas Azevedo in the 94th minute of play. There was no doubt that Tangente SC were the better team. Tangente SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
