Dedê Rosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício de Medeiros in the 12th minute of play forced EC JUVENTUDE's goalkeeper Durval da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to EC JUVENTUDE getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alfredão Vides hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurício de Medeiros in the 18th minute of play forced EC JUVENTUDE's goalkeeper Durval da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Dedê Rosa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. EC JUVENTUDE's Durval da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Augusto Zonta in the 24th minute of play. EC JUVENTUDE's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dedê Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dedê Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Natã Sabóia having to interfere. EC JUVENTUDE's Alfredão Vides got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st match minute, Xapetuba SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. Xapetuba SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dedê Rosa 44 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-1. Natã Sabóia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê Rosa, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute.
