Nihat Korcan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Elano Arósio made a huge save. Jeremias Patxi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Upabucu's Elano Arósio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nihat Korcan in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Upabucu's goalkeeper Elano Arósio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jeremias Patxi. Corinthians Paulistano's Jeremias Patxi was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 42nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 53rd minute, Jeremias Patxi made a precise shot to the right of Elano Arósio. Upabucu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. After 62 minutes Upabucu's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jorge Barbosa who took care of the corner kick. Corinthians Paulistano's Nihat Korcan was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Elano Arósio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When the match clock showed 68 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Jeremias Patxi sped through Upabucu's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Elano Arósio. Dadá de Lara hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. If Dadá de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Elano Arósio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremias Patxi in the 77th minute of play. In the 79th minute, Juarês Prestes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 81st minute Jeremias Patxi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elano Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Richard da Silva fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Upabucu's protests and gave Richard da Silva a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Upabucu getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Richard da Silva hit a great ball. Elano Arósio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nihat Korcan went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. Reinaldo Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano Arósio having to interfere. Elano Arósio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Patxi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jeremias Patxi in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elano Arósio saved Upabucu from getting behind. Corinthians Paulistano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
