The Nepomuceno fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Amorim got free with Gláuber Guedes in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Nepomuceno booed when Racing Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faustão de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Washington Nunes in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elano de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alan Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano de Almeida having to interfere. Ronaldão Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano de Almeida having to interfere. In the 65th minute Natã Silveira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gláuber Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Racing Club's Elano de Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Racing Club from getting a goal against them. Alan Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Elano de Almeida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Washington Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute.
