Hélio Braga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leonardo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leonardo Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Fernandes having to interfere. Chico Borges came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Bacurizeiro FC's Hélio Braga. But to his dismay, Hélio Braga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Aníbal Motta was extremely unlucky when he, in the 18th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Chico Borges made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Braga in the 20th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Santa cruz fc's Leonardo Teixeira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Fernandes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 25th minute Hélio Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 29 minutes into the match, Santa cruz fc's Aníbal Motta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelo Fernandes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bacurizeiro FC's Angelo Fernandes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Bacurizeiro FC from getting a goal against them. In the 32nd minute Hélio Braga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Chico Borges saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aníbal Motta in the 35th minute of play forced Bacurizeiro FC's goalkeeper Angelo Fernandes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chico Borges showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélio Braga in the 37th minute of the match. Aníbal Motta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leonardo Teixeira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Angelo Fernandes made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hélio Braga in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chico Borges prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 44 minutes into the match, Bacurizeiro FC's Hélio Braga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Chico Borges narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Enrique Bezerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Chico Borges tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Santa cruz fc's Chico Borges played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Braga in the 55th minute of play. In the 55th match minute, Santa cruz fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Chico Borges took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Braga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Aníbal Motta in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Angelo Fernandes saved Bacurizeiro FC from getting behind. When Enrique Bezerra came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Bacurizeiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Bezerra couldn't finish the play. Enrique Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Remo Castro hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Santa cruz fc's Silas Recife tried to score from far away in the 83rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 84th match minute, Bacurizeiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Freitas to maneuver through the defense. If Aníbal Motta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 minutes, Sebastião Rodrigues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa cruz fc and the Bacurizeiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 88th match minute, Santa cruz fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. Angelo Fernandes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aníbal Motta in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Aníbal Motta made a precise shot to the right of Angelo Fernandes. Bacurizeiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1.
