Spectators: 7209 (Terracing: 5409, Seating: 1657, VIP seats: 143) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Jarbas Ramos made the kick off which started today's match. A collision led to Cauarru getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Alessandro Silveira hit a great ball. In the 8th minute Jarbas Ramos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson dos Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Cauarru's goal looked a bit too open when Jarbas Ramos came free, but Denílson dos Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Cauarru defense, Jarbas Ramos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Denílson dos Santos. The Cauarru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Denílson dos Santos should have stopped the shot. Cauarru's Denílson dos Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos Brito in the 14th minute of play. Ascuria FC's Zé Carlos Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Denílson dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Chaves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Glauco Godoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Zé Carlos Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson dos Santos having to interfere. Denílson dos Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarbas Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denílson dos Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Denílson dos Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Carlos Brito's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Carlos Brito in the 43rd minute of play forced Cauarru's goalkeeper Denílson dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jarbas Ramos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Cafu de Carvalho fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cauarru's protests and gave Cafu de Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Cauarru's Cafu de Carvalho got a free kick in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Danilo Gerber stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Percy Pitta came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Cauarru's Danilo Gerber. But to his dismay, Danilo Gerber quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 57thth minute of the game Jarbas Ramos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cauarru's Denílson dos Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Carlos Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Denílson dos Santos made a fantastic save in the 61st minute, when Zé Carlos Brito sent off a good shot on target. Denílson dos Santos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zé Carlos Brito in the 62nd minute. Cauarru's Denílson dos Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Cauarru from getting a goal against them. If Zé Carlos Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Denílson dos Santos managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Ascuria FC's Zé Carlos Brito fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 75th minute, Jarbas Ramos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ascuria FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The crowd rose to their feet as Jarbas Ramos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Denílson dos Santos. That made the score 1-3 in the 78 minute of play. Denílson dos Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Brito in the 87th minute of the match. Denílson dos Santos was a little too slow when Jarbas Ramos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 89th minute. The score was now 1-4. Zé Carlos Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Percy Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Vítor Arce, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Cauarru fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ascuria FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
