Frank Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 10 minutes into the match, Caramuru SS's goalkeeper Frank Lara had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dudu Vieira. 14 minutes into the match, Barandao's goal looked a bit too open when José Augusto Queirós came free, but Alexsandro Dantas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 15 minutes Barandao's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Hílton Lucas who took care of the corner kick. In the 16th minute of the match Ian Vasconcelos sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexsandro Dantas skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Dudu Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Barandao's supporters rose to their feet, but Dudu Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Amadeu das Neves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 27th minute, Dudu Salles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dudu Vieira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Frank Lara skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 31 minutes, José Augusto Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caramuru SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Augusto Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristóvão Trevisan during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cristóvão Trevisan kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Alexsandro Dantas stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Figueiredo's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. If Durvalino Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu das Neves to make the kick off. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Caramuru SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
