Spectators: 7217 (Terracing: 5414, Seating: 1660, VIP seats: 143) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Yuri Vale kicked off to start the match. In the 6th match minute, GAM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adilson Lima to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Furlan got free with Ronaldo Costa in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jeferson Peres struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Eugênio Linhares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varnhagen EC. Eugênio Linhares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Gonçalves in the 21st minute of the match. 25 minutes in the game, Orlando Gonçalves dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. In the 26th minute, Jeferson Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Orlando Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeferson Peres in the 37th minute of play forced GAM's goalkeeper Eugênio Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeferson Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eugênio Linhares having to interfere. Eugênio Linhares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orlando Gonçalves in the 41st minute of play. Yuri Vale recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 45th match minute, Varnhagen EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Zilles to maneuver through the defense.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Orlando Gonçalves made a kick off. A collision led to GAM getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Marco Furlan hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in GAM's zone, Jeferson Peres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugênio Linhares came out of the goal and Jeferson Peres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeferson Peres's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugênio Linhares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. Rodrigo Magalhães hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. In the 63rd match minute, GAM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodrigo Magalhães to maneuver through the defense. When Antônio de Brito fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varnhagen EC's protests and gave Antônio de Brito a yellow card for diving instead. Antônio de Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. GAM's Eugênio Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antônio de Brito in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Antônio de Brito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 82 minutes into the game, Murillo Passos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GAM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varnhagen EC the free kick. Jeferson Peres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Eugênio Linhares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Varnhagen EC's Orlando Gonçalves dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. GAM's Eugênio Linhares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save GAM from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Varnhagen EC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than GAM.
