The Meia Boca FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Conrado Bastos should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute of the match Luizinho Baptista sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Caio Valadares skillfully saved the ball. The audience was convinced that Luiz Guilherme de Queirós's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caio Valadares was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Meia Boca FC's zone, Marcos Magalhães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Conrado Bastos came out of the goal and Marcos Magalhães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caio Valadares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Armandinho Dionísio charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armandinho Dionísio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Armandinho Dionísio kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marcos Magalhães stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Meia Boca FC's Conrado Bastos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Severo in the 51st minute of play. If Marcos Magalhães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Vere EC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Abel Bueno hit a great ball. Vágner Vale's late challenge caught a Vere EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vágner Vale helped the player get up and apologised. In the 62nd minute, Vágner Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64thth minute of the game Marcos Magalhães who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Meia Boca FC's Conrado Bastos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Magalhães might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Conrado Bastos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcos Magalhães ran back to his position shaking his head. Conrado Bastos made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Walmir Severo sent off a good shot on target. In a very dangerous position, a player in Meia Boca FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 81st minute. Penalty! The Vere EC fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Vere EC's Kléberson Freire looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Walmir Severo took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Conrado Bastos. Conrado Bastos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Hélio Soares hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Meia Boca FC's Patrick Nascimento broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Célio Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caio Valadares having to interfere.
