The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute, Osmar Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alex Escobar in the 4thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of José Vítor Fontes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, E.C Laranjeira's Jefferson Pereira got a free kick in the 8th minute. When the match clock showed 9 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Alex Escobar sped through E.C Laranjeira's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of José Vítor Fontes. José Vítor Fontes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alex Escobar in the 11th minute. When E.C. Feira de Santana's Aleksandr Tokarev in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 18th minute there was a penalty for E.C. Feira de Santana. Aluísio Tróia stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Vítor Fontes. 2-0. Ionică Dragnea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Medeiros in the 21st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Manfredo Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot. E.C Laranjeira's supporters rose to their feet, but Manfredo Medeiros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ionică Dragnea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Manfredo Medeiros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of E.C. Feira de Santana booed when E.C Laranjeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdir Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Vítor Fontes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aleksandr Tokarev in the 28th minute of the match. Ernesto Batista's late challenge caught a E.C. Feira de Santana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Batista helped the player get up and apologised. 30 minutes into the match, E.C Laranjeira's goal looked a bit too open when Aleksandr Tokarev came free, but José Vítor Fontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in E.C. Feira de Santana's zone, Zé Arce stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ionică Dragnea came out of the goal and Zé Arce tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, E.C Laranjeira's José Vítor Fontes got control of the ball when Alex Escobar tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Aleksandr Tokarev made a kick off. A collision led to E.C Laranjeira getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Kiko Lopez hit a great ball. José Vítor Fontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aluísio Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dagoberto Britto took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised José Vítor Fontes. José Vítor Fontes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Osmar Machado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Vítor Fontes having to interfere. José Vítor Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alex Escobar, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. José Vítor Fontes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alex Escobar's shot from short distance in the 76th minute. Zé Arce's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Ionică Dragnea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ionică Dragnea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manfredo Medeiros in the 85th minute of play. In the 86thth minute of the game Alex Escobar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but E.C Laranjeira's José Vítor Fontes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. E.C Laranjeira's Marcelo Santana shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 88th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ionică Dragnea but with some difficulty. When Aleksandr Tokarev came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the E.C. Feira de Santana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleksandr Tokarev couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the E.C Laranjeira defense, Aleksandr Tokarev kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of José Vítor Fontes. The E.C Laranjeira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that José Vítor Fontes should have stopped the shot. E.C. Feira de Santana's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
