The audience thought a goal was coming when Giovanni de Lara got free with Tibúrcio Pirani in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A hard shot 19 in the game by Giovanni de Lara from a close distance when the talented Tibúrcio Pirani managed to make a qualified save. Vasconcellos AD's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Proença in the 22nd minute of play forced Vasconcellos AD's goalkeeper Tibúrcio Pirani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marinov Gorchev didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Vasconcellos AD's goal looked a bit too open when Wilton Hermes came free, but Tibúrcio Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute Marinov Gorchev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Camargo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Cícero Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vasconcellos AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Cícero Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. João Camargo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Camargo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marinov Gorchev in the 87th minute of play. A collision led to Vasconcellos AD getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Albertino Amaral hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Marinov Gorchev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
