After a defensive mix-up in Cuité Futebol Clube's zone, Luisinho de Moraes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bebeto Hoffmann came out of the goal and Luisinho de Moraes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 29 minutes, Remo Cruz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SQUADRA 00's supporters crossed their fingers, but Remo Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alexandre Sá took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 31st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sílvio Luiz França. SQUADRA 00's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 36 played minutes, Cuité Futebol Clube's Alexandre Sá shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sílvio Luiz França came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cuité Futebol Clube reached it. Sílvio Luiz França took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adhemar Madureira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edson dos Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edson dos Santos made a kick off. Sílvio Luiz França stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edson dos Santos's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Perivaldo Rosa's late challenge caught a Cuité Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perivaldo Rosa helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of SQUADRA 00:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cuité Futebol Clube:s goal. Thanks to some nice moves Adhemar Madureira could shoot a difficult shot in the 71st minute, which Sílvio Luiz França however easily saved by the left post. If Zé Augusto Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edson dos Santos in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sílvio Luiz França saved SQUADRA 00 from getting behind. After a rather tough play, SQUADRA 00's Jarbas Machado got a free kick in the 77th minute. Vitório de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Edson dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sílvio Luiz França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cuité Futebol Clube's Adhemar Madureira got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luisinho de Moraes kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. The supporters of SQUADRA 00 booed when Cuité Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 94th match minute, SQUADRA 00 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adriano Rezende to maneuver through the defense.
