Spectators: 7121 (Terracing: 5450, Seating: 1671, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Romário Pires started the match with the kick off. Daniel Arósio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Carneiro in the 4th minute of the match. When Zé Carlos de Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Uberaba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Carlos de Sousa couldn't finish the play. João Augusto Moura hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Gil Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Daniel Arósio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dário Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romário Pires, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Uberaba FC booed when Ceresopolis AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romário Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Arósio having to interfere. The supporters of Uberaba FC booed when Ceresopolis AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hortêncio Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Pires in the 35th minute of play forced Uberaba FC's goalkeeper Dário Linhares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uberaba FC's Dário Linhares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romário Pires in the 36th minute of play. Gil Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Arósio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Serginho Meirelles in the 40th minute of play forced Ceresopolis AD's goalkeeper Daniel Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Uberaba FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Romário Pires scored to the left of an out of position Dário Linhares, making the score, 1-0. Romário Pires recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gil Cordeiro was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Romário Pires shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dário Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Ceresopolis AD:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Uberaba FC:s goal. After 60 minutes, Serginho Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ceresopolis AD and the Uberaba FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Uberaba FC's Ricardinho Neves got a free kick in the 60th minute. Zé Carlos de Sousa hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match Romário Pires shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dário Linhares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Gil Cordeiro notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ceresopolis AD's Daniel Arósio. Daniel Arósio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ismael de Queirós received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniel Arósio came out and tried to block the shot, but Ismael de Queirós slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 89th minute. Daniel Arósio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ismael de Queirós in the 97th minute.
