André Luís de Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ian Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without André Luís de Alcântara having to make a save. In the 24thth minute of the game Ian Souza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bago's André Luís de Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 30 minutes into the game, Bago's Horácio Bertassi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claudinei Freitas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 34thth minute of the game Ian Souza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bago's André Luís de Alcântara was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ian Souza in the 40th minute of play forced Bago's goalkeeper André Luís de Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. André Luís de Alcântara stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ian Souza's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ian Souza in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck André Luís de Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ian Souza in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg André Luís de Alcântara saved Bago from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Bago's zone, Edson Monteiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luís de Alcântara came out of the goal and Edson Monteiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ian Souza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ian Souza's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 55thth minute, André Luís de Alcântara skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 56th minute, Edson Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Bago fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Luís de Alcântara should have stopped the shot. If Horácio Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 80th minute, Bago's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ian Souza fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After having played for 83 minutes, Emílio de Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Império Branco F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emílio de Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 85th minute, Rogério Palmeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Império Branco F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Souza to maneuver through the defense. Horácio Bertassi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
