But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flávio Madureira couldn't finish the play. Quaracu AD's Beto Tinoco got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flávio Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Madureira in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardo Mineiro saved Quaracu AD from getting behind. The Quaracu AD players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Qra TOMATE were winning 0-2.

53 minutes into the match, Qra TOMATE's Anísio Pontes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Mineiro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Bernardo Mineiro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Flávio Madureira's shot from short distance in the 56th minute.
