The crowd rose to their feet as Orlando Catarinense kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nico Catarinense. That made the score 2-0 in the 28 minute of play. 31 minutes into the match, Caldo de Cana F.C.'s Lenílson Araújo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Nico Catarinense narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Nico Catarinense showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenílson Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Fred Mattos helped the player get up and apologised. After 87 played minutes Guayra got a freekick which was hit by Fred Mattos. After having played for 94 minutes, Amauri Linhares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caldo de Cana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Amauri Linhares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amauri Linhares in the 96th minute of play forced Guayra's goalkeeper Nico Catarinense to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caldo de Cana F.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
