Caldo de Cana F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Lenílson Araújo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amauri Linhares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wiliam Tavares having to make a save. Mário Lopes kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Amauri Linhares came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Caldo de Cana F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amauri Linhares couldn't finish the play. In the 63rd minute, Amauri Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eusébio Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. When Lenílson Araújo, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 69 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Wiliam Tavares was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Lenílson Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Wiliam Tavares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lenílson Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. During the 76th minute of the match Francisco Coutinho completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Francisco Coutinho a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Caldo de Cana F.C. booed when Raposa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Coutinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th minute of the match Arlindo Paulista shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Wiliam Tavares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Wilton Velloso was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 79th minute. Raposa's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 84 played minutes Raposa got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Velloso. Lenílson Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wiliam Tavares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Lenílson Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Tavares having to interfere. Wiliam Tavares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lenílson Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Caldo de Cana F.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
