Spectators: 5030 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 30) Pirangucu EC's Afonsinho Alvarenga started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Pirangucu EC's goal looked a bit too open when Tostão Pires came free, but Tadeu Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tadeu Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Tadeu Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tostão Pires's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. Tadeu Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tostão Pires in the 10th minute of play. The supporters of Jacurutu AD booed when Pirangucu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Maria Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tadeu Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tostão Pires in the 13th minute of play. Kiko Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tadeu Senna having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Claudinho Branco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Jacurutu AD's zone, Serginho Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cipriano Linhares came out of the goal and Serginho Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tadeu Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Pires, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Marcos Lago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Tadeu Senna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tostão Pires in the 38th minute of play forced Pirangucu EC's goalkeeper Tadeu Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadeu Senna didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sílvio Luís Brodel went, in the 42nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 46th minute, Francisco Fernandes made a precise shot to the right of Cipriano Linhares. Jacurutu AD's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. After the first half Jacurutu AD were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tostão Pires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Edmundo Chaves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jacurutu AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tostão Pires got free with Tadeu Senna in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Tostão Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tostão Pires's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Tadeu Senna skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Wágner Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Pirangucu EC's Wágner Neiva got a free kick in the 65th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Pirangucu EC's goalkeeper Tadeu Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tostão Pires. In the 71st minute, Tostão Pires ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tadeu Senna was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. In the 74th minute, Pirangucu EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kiko Carneiro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 74 minutes into the match, Pirangucu EC's goalkeeper Tadeu Senna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tostão Pires. In the 75th minute, Serginho Tande hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edmundo Chaves was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 76th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tostão Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute, Wágner Neiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 minutes, Francisco Fernandes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pirangucu EC and the Jacurutu AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. 91 minutes into the match, Jacurutu AD's Tostão Pires sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tadeu Senna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Pirangucu EC's Francisco Fernandes got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The nice shot from Tostão Pires in the 94thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Tadeu Senna had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. When the final whistle sounded Jacurutu AD left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Pirangucu EC.
