Spectators: 5030 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 30) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Afonsinho Alvarenga started the match with the kick off. After 3 played minutes Pirangucu EC got a freekick which was hit by Serginho Tande. After 10 minutes, Samuel de Toledo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ELOC and the Pirangucu EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Samuel de Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Tadeu Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otávio Botelho, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. When Pirangucu EC's Afonsinho Alvarenga in the 16th minute got a chance for a shot 16th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ELOC's goalie prevented a goal. When Eliézer Brasil fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ELOC's protests and gave Eliézer Brasil a yellow card for diving instead. Pirangucu EC's Emílio Munhoz shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 27th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Sidnei Costa but with some difficulty. Afonsinho Alvarenga blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Sidnei Costa having to make a save. Jorginho Rossi took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tadeu Senna. Tadeu Senna dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. José Maria Goiano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Costa having to interfere. Sidnei Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Afonsinho Alvarenga's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Maria Goiano got free with Sidnei Costa in the 39th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 42nd minute, Dedê Lopes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Afonsinho Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Jorginho Rossi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tadeu Senna was relentless in the 48th minute of the game. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Otávio Botelho made the kick off in the second half. Otávio Botelho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pirangucu EC's Tadeu Senna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Otávio Botelho in the 62nd minute of play. Tadeu Senna stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Otávio Botelho's shot from short distance in the 67th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Pirangucu EC's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Botelho came free, but Tadeu Senna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jorginho Rossi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tadeu Senna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Pirangucu EC's zone, Jorginho Rossi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeu Senna came out of the goal and Jorginho Rossi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Pirangucu EC's Francisco Fernandes got a free kick in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute, Eliézer Brasil sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Pirangucu EC's Tadeu Senna didn't even have to move. José Maria Goiano struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Sidnei Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pirangucu EC. ELOC's Perivaldo Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pirangucu EC's Francisco Fernandes pulled a muscle in his leg after 90 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 90 minutes, Perivaldo Valladares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ELOC and the Pirangucu EC players grew even worse after the yellow card. ELOC's Sidnei Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Maria Goiano in the 93rd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
