A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Rubens Paraibano kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Frank Sá. That made the score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. Edu Mendes's late challenge caught a Caiçara Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edu Mendes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th match minute, EspartaFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu Mendes to maneuver through the defense. 70 minutes into the game, EspartaFC's Fred Barbosa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank Sá made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Thanks to some nice moves Fred Barbosa could shoot a difficult shot in the 77th minute, which Frank Sá however easily saved by the left post. Frank Sá made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rubens Paraibano in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Peres in the 81st minute of play forced EspartaFC's goalkeeper José Pedro Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fred Barbosa got free with Frank Sá in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 95 minutes, Thiago Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caiçara Esporte Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thiago Peres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. EspartaFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
