The penalty shot was made by Róbson Abraão, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of United Foxes's Tales Teixeira. 0-1. João Francisco Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Alfredinho Bezerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Paulo Renato Ferreira came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the United Foxes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulo Renato Ferreira couldn't finish the play. The supporters of United Foxes booed when Queixo Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fabiano Dracena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Queixo Juniors's Alfredinho Bezerra proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Queixo Juniors from getting a goal against them. Tales Teixeira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Walmir Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in United Foxes's zone, Fernandinho Carioca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tales Teixeira came out of the goal and Fernandinho Carioca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tales Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evandro da Fonseca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernandinho Carioca to make the kick off. João Barbosa charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Tales Teixeira. Alfredinho Bezerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Renato Ferreira in the 76th minute of the match. Fernandinho Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Queixo Juniors's zone, João Francisco Ramos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alfredinho Bezerra came out of the goal and João Francisco Ramos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Queixo Juniors walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
