César Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reginaldo de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Nascimento in the 12th minute of play forced BYU Cougars ®'s goalkeeper César Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonas Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Lino Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paranagi's Amílton Gomes got a free kick in the 19th minute. César Bertassi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Nascimento's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Durvalino Nascimento in the 30th minute of play forced BYU Cougars ®'s goalkeeper César Bertassi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reginaldo de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. César Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paranagi's Lino Rocha proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Paranagi from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, BYU Cougars ®'s Lino Rocha threw himself towards the right post 34 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jonas Sarmento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lino Rocha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonas Sarmento in the 38th minute of play. Otávio de Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Lino Rocha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tostão Hoffmann went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When Durvalino Nascimento came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Paranagi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durvalino Nascimento couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Reginaldo de Toledo got free with César Bertassi in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tostão Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Rocha having to interfere. Tostão Hoffmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. César Bertassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Durvalino Nascimento in the 65th minute. Paranagi's Lino Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tostão Hoffmann in the 68th minute of play. César Bertassi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ezequiel Gonçalves in the 77th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Paranagi's Durvalino Nascimento dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Amílton Gomes hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonas Sarmento in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lino Rocha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Paranagi players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented BYU Cougars ® from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
