Valério Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hot Dog. If Pedro Luís Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hudson Corrêa in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valério Ferreira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Hot Dog's zone, Júlio Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Gaspar came out of the goal and Júlio Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júlio Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Andrézinho Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Hot Dog's zone, Eduardo Moreno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Gaspar came out of the goal and Eduardo Moreno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hudson Corrêa struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Valério Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hot Dog. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 37th minute of the game. One of Goias E. C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hot Dog:s goal. 40 minutes into the match, Goias E. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Pedro Luís Albuquerque came free, but Valério Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Moreno struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hudson Corrêa to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Zé Arósio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Goias E. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hot Dog the free kick. The supporters of Hot Dog booed when Goias E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Arósio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Pedro Campidelis, 56 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Pedro Luís Albuquerque received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Valério Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Pedro Luís Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hot Dog's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Pedro Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Goias E. C.'s Valério Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hudson Corrêa in the 79th minute of play. If Zé Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes, Hot Dog's Jorge Soares shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Valério Ferreira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hot Dog reached it. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Pedro Luís Albuquerque managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hot Dog's supporters rose to their feet, but Pedro Luís Albuquerque was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hot Dog's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
