With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sidney Montenegro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cristóvão Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Augusto Cerezo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. S R G's Rodriguinho Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sidney Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Trevisan in the 24th minute of play. Percy Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Montenegro having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Adhemar Barbosa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zé Augusto Cerezo. That made the score 1-1 in the 29 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emílio da Fonseca in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Augusto Cerezo saved S R G from getting behind. S R G's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Emílio da Fonseca 39 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-1. With a little luck, S R G's Zé Augusto Cerezo got control of the ball when Cristóvão Alvarenga tried to sneak it across the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arí Trevisan to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, DunHill F.C.'s Adhemar Barbosa got a free kick in the 67th minute. 70 minutes into the match, S R G's Arí Trevisan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sidney Montenegro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, S R G's goal looked a bit too open when Cristóvão Alvarenga came free, but Zé Augusto Cerezo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Percy Guerra charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Percy Guerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to S R G getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Percy Guerra hit a great ball. Arí Trevisan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Sidney Montenegro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Augusto Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio da Fonseca in the 80th minute of the match. Arí Trevisan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidney Montenegro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Arí Trevisan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sidney Montenegro was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. After having played for 85 minutes, Amílton Barreto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Many of S R G's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. S R G may have spent more time on the ball, but DunHill F.C. were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
