Alexsandro Netto was slow to take the kick. During this time Auriflama SC's players had a chance to rest. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmundo Ramos during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 12th minute, Edmundo Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Reginaldo Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Agostinho Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Auriflama SC fans jumped to their feet. Betinho de Toledo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginaldo Guerra in the 38th minute of the match. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Tomás Lago scored 1-3 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Betinho de Toledo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Reginaldo Guerra blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Betinho de Toledo having to make a save. After having played for 79 minutes, Reginaldo Guerra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Auriflama SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Reginaldo Guerra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Reginaldo Guerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Betinho de Toledo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomás Lago in the 96th minute.
