AMERICA's Silvestre Gilabert got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Mota, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Noel Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Valladares having to interfere. If Geovanni Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Geovanni Trevisan managed to get in a good position for a shot. AMERICA's supporters rose to their feet, but Geovanni Trevisan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Frank Valladares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Noel Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Geovanni Trevisan might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frank Valladares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geovanni Trevisan ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Grêmio dos Canudos EC defense, Silvestre Gilabert kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Frank Valladares. The Grêmio dos Canudos EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Frank Valladares should have stopped the shot. Geovanni Trevisan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel Mota blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Frank Valladares having to make a save. After 28 played minutes, AMERICA's Claudinho de Amaral shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frank Valladares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AMERICA reached it. Dito Aparecido kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. In the 36th minute of the match Claudinho de Amaral shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Frank Valladares showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 39 minutes into the game, Silvestre Gilabert cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Frank Valladares was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Geovanni Trevisan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 宋迪潮 kicked well hit freekick during the 48th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Noel Mota made the kick off in the second half. Frank Valladares made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Geovanni Trevisan sent off a good shot on target. Frank Valladares stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noel Mota's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. 61 minutes into the match, AMERICA's Geovanni Trevisan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frank Valladares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 1-3 became the score in the 65th minute when João Pedro Pernambucano elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Geovanni Trevisan got free with Frank Valladares in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. AMERICA's Agne Brogren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Waldemar Motta in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to AMERICA getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. 宋迪潮 hit a great ball. Branimir Gošljević kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Silvestre Gilabert struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Frank Valladares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AMERICA. A hard shot by Claudinho de Amaral from long distance, 94 minutes into the match, got Frank Valladares's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Frank Valladares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Geovanni Trevisan in the 98th minute. AMERICA's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
