To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Tucunupi FC's Célio Lago proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Tucunupi FC from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dudu Urbano during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Paris Saint-Germain's Vitório de Lara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Paulo Ramos in the 60th minute of play. Vitório de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Paulo Ramos in the 63rd minute of the match.
