The penalty shot was made by Sebastião Cavalcante, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of CAPE TOWN MZC's Arnaldo Sá. 0-1. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Ricardo Pimenta took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Claudinho Correia to make any attempt to save it. If Ricardo Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thiago de Almeida hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Ricardo Pimenta struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Claudinho Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CAPE TOWN MZC. Valério Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Dênis Ferraz came free with the goalkeeper in the 22nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Claudinho Correia could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Cambuca's Jailson França got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cambuca's goalkeeper Claudinho Correia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, Silvinho Santana was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. CAPE TOWN MZC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cambuca the free kick. Arnaldo Sá had in the 30thth minute some difficulties stopping Sebastião Cavalcante's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Dênis Ferraz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Claudinho Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dênis Ferraz got free with Claudinho Correia in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnaldo Sá showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Cambuca were awarded a corner in the 50th minute after CAPE TOWN MZC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sebastião Cavalcante took the corner. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Arnaldo Sá made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Fiori Saldanha sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Álvaro Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cambuca's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Nunes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnaldo Sá breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ricardo Pimenta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Correia having to interfere. 68 minutes into the match, Cambuca's goal looked a bit too open when Ricardo Pimenta came free, but Claudinho Correia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fiori Saldanha took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnaldo Sá. Arnaldo Sá dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Álvaro Nunes was extremely unlucky when he, in the 79th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 1-3 became the score in the 85th minute when Álvaro Nunes elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Matías Favoretto during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st minute, Matías Favoretto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Álvaro Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Fiori Saldanha fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cambuca's protests and gave Fiori Saldanha a yellow card for diving instead. After 96 played minutes Cambuca got a freekick which was hit by Fiori Saldanha. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cambuca had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
