Uruana's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Faustão Mangueira ran over to the corner to take the kick. After a defensive mix-up in Uruana's zone, Joélson Bertassi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hudson Nascimento came out of the goal and Joélson Bertassi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joélson Bertassi struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Hudson Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Camargo FC. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zeca Barbosa made a kick off. Joélson Bertassi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Hudson Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the game, Laerte Britto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruana's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Camargo FC the free kick. The supporters of Camargo FC booed when Uruana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Britto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruana's goalkeeper Hudson Nascimento, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 62 played minutes Camargo FC got a freekick which was hit by Victor Pereira. 66 minutes into the match, Uruana's Douglas Duarte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Claudinho Tróia narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Claudinho Tróia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 93rd minute, Zeca Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Douglas Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
