Ubirataia FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Matorin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Ubirataia FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pedrinho Mendes hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ubirataia FC's zone, Mário Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Luiz Martins came out of the goal and Mário Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luís Fabiano Reis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. When Hernani Dante came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Ubirataia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Dante couldn't finish the play. Mário Batista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Luiz Martins having to interfere. Wesley Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Vespacity FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ubirataia FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
