With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival Messias in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claes Malmström saved Vila Pindense from getting behind. Kléberson Terra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Dorival Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claes Malmström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Messias in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Braga FC's goalkeeper Ronaldinho Melo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sílvio dos Santos. When Júnior Mangueira fell near the penalty area in the 23rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vila Pindense's protests and gave Júnior Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. Claes Malmström was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sílvio dos Santos got free with Ronaldinho Melo in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ronaldinho Melo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Sílvio dos Santos showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 32 minute of play. 37 minutes into the match, Vila Pindense's goal looked a bit too open when Gerson Veiga came free, but Claes Malmström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ronaldinho Melo made a fantastic save in the 39th minute, when Sílvio dos Santos sent off a good shot on target. Gerson Veiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claes Malmström having to interfere. Dorival Messias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claes Malmström read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Sílvio dos Santos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Melo having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Júnior Mangueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vila Pindense's supporters rose to their feet, but Júnior Mangueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldinho Melo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sílvio dos Santos might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronaldinho Melo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sílvio dos Santos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th minute Kléberson Terra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldinho Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kléberson Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldinho Melo having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sílvio dos Santos during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Júnior Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of Braga FC booed when Vila Pindense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mazinho Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vila Pindense's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dorival Messias 80 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-2. After 88 minutes of play Vila Pindense's Júnior Mangueira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 89th match minute, Vila Pindense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Júnior Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. Dorival Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Claes Malmström tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Sílvio dos Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vila Pindense's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
