After 3 minutes, Fernando Soeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sport Club Jardim Munhoz and the Descalvados players grew even worse after the yellow card. 2 minutes into the game, one of Sport Club Jardim Munhoz:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 4th minute there was a penalty for Descalvados. Edinho Barbosa stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Henrique Eger. 1-0. Edinho Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sebastião Viana's late challenge caught a Descalvados's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastião Viana helped the player get up and apologised. Sebastião Viana hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Sport Club Jardim Munhoz's Henrique Eger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliézer de Azevedo in the 27th minute of play. Jerônimo Nunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Aleandro Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aleandro Mesquita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anderson Lopez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Charles de Alcântara notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Descalvados's Aleandro Mesquita. Aleandro Mesquita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Jerônimo Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Anderson Lopez scored 1-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Aleandro Mesquita, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half Sport Club Jardim Munhoz were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Dedé Zilles made the kick off in the second half. If Eliézer de Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edinho Barbosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Eger having to interfere. When Dedé Zilles came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Descalvados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedé Zilles couldn't finish the play. Descalvados's Eliézer de Azevedo got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 79th minute, Dedé Zilles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastião Viana fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 93rd minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball bounced in the crossbar and then went out. It was a very nice shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerônimo Nunes in the 96th minute of play forced Descalvados's goalkeeper Aleandro Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jerônimo Nunes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aleandro Mesquita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
